Julio Peña Gorbe, from IES Ibaialde; Leyre Andión Martínez, from high school FEC Vedruna; and Alex Castro, from high school San Francisco Javier (Tudela), have won the local phase of the XIV Olympiad of Philosophy, in their modality of essay, photography and moral dilemmas respectively. The submission of awards of the competition, to which 130 students of 3rd and 4th of ESO and 1st and 2nd of high school diploma from 15 schools in Navarra, has taken place in the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra. The winners will represent the Comunidad Foral in the Olimpiada Filosófica de España, to be held from March 28 to 30 in Palma de Mallorca.

In the essay modality , Ana Cañas Mayoral, from Sagrado Corazón high school (2nd award); and Sofía Kvasnytska, from San Ignacio high school (3rd award) were also awarded. In addition, second prizes were awarded to Íñigo Aguado Marcén (IES Ibaialde), Gabriel De Souza Elizaldehigh school Escolapios-Calasanz) and Pablo Erviti Santestebanhigh school Escolapios-Calasanz).

In the category of philosophical photography, the second award went to Daniel Jimenez Ruizhigh school Escolapios-Calasanzhigh school ). In moral dilemmas, Nayadé Blázquez Moro (Liceo Monjardín) received the second award.

The Olympiad of Philosophy seeks to encourage reflection, critical thinking and dialogue in young people, as well as to consolidate and complement the contents of philosophical subjects. It also has as goal to establish links between the teachers of Philosophy of Navarra and to create spaces of communication between the teaching upper and secondary schools. It has the partnership of Kukuxumusu, the publishing house Chair , Librerías Troa, the department of Education of the Government of Navarra, and the high school Oficial de Doctores y Licenciados de Navarra.
