The University launches Master's Degree University in General Health Psychology

The new offer of postgraduate program, which allows to practice the profession in the private healthcare field, will begin to be offered in the 2018-2019 academic year.

From the next academic year 2018-19, the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra will offer the Master's Degree University in General Health Psychology, a new postgraduate program aimed at those psychology graduates interested in practicing their profession in the private health field.

 

The degree scroll of General Sanitary Psychologist (Degree in Psychology with 90 ECTS credit of Clinical Psychology + Master's Degree University in General Sanitary Psychology) allows to develop the professional activity on own account or for others in the sanitary field and to register the assistance units or Psychology consultations in the General Registry of Centers, Health Services and Establishments (for foreign students who want to work in Spain it will be mandatory to homologate their programs of study from Degree, accrediting the 90 ECTS credit of Clinical Psychology and having done the Master's Degree of General Health Psychology).

This Master's Degree responds to the detection of a social demand, since, according to Concepción Naval, dean of the School of Education and Psychology of the academic center, last year there were hundreds of graduates in Psychology in Spain who could not access this Master's Degree, due to lack of places.

training scientific, humanistic, ethical and professional

As for the contents, they have been configured combining the scientific, humanistic, ethical and professional aspects in the students' training . The program, which lasts 14 months, consists of 90 credits (ECTS credit), and is obtained by passing 16 subjects (structured in 2 modules), the Practicum and the End of Degree work Master's Degree .

The academic staff of the Master's Degree will be composed of teachers and professional experts in clinical fields such as family therapy, neuropsychology, psycho-oncology, addictions or different psychological disorders.

This training will be completed with specialized seminars, practical sessions and work on group and individual assignments. In addition, students will be able to train in intervention skills in the Simulation Center at School, which has a thermographic camera.
