"We want to encourage interest in technical careers and research and, by means of games and practical workshops, financial aid , we want young people to understand what the work of an engineer is in its different phases", explains Tecnun professor and promoter of conference, Mikel Arcelus.

Arcelus explains that the participation of women has increased in recent years, reaching 43% in this edition. The figure coincides with the issue of female students studying at programs of study in the School of Engineering: "There was a very significant peak four years ago, when 48% of the students who joined Tecnun were women. At the moment we have 40% of future female engineers, a positive and encouraging figure", Arcelus explained.

The young participants come from schools in the Basque Country, Navarre, Asturias, Aragon, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid, Castile and Leon, Alicante, La Rioja, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.
