The University of Navarra has published a bilingual guide in Spanish and English with guidelines and recommendations on prevention and health for all students at the beginning of the academic year, next September. The guide establishes a series of measures that will be applied before traveling to campus, upon entering classes and throughout the year. The edition of this guide has a double purpose goal: to watch over the health of the university community and society in general; and to offer precise information that will help to solve doubts of students and their families.

Three different guides have been published, which include the peculiarities of the campus of Pamplona, Madrid and San Sebastian, and have been sent to all students. They are also available for download at the following web site

The University will activate in mid-August a health and assistanceprotocol to ensure that students arrive healthy at campus. Prevention and active surveillance measures have been prepared to know at all times the epidemiological status and to act quickly and effectively in the containment and treatment of the disease in case of contagion. With this guide, the University appeals to the responsibility of students to take these preventive measures, inside and outside the campus.

In addition to indicating the basic hygiene rules: frequent hand washing, use of masks and maintaining an interpersonal distance of 1.5 meters, the guide provides instructions on how to take the test PCR, free for all students; the documentation that must be provided, where the tests are performed and how to act at all times, if the result of the test is positive or negative. Students will receive an email in mid-August to arrange their quotation.

Along with this diagnostic measure, the guide offers other advice for travel and trips; and recommendations on how the student should be incorporated into the classroom. It is indicated how to proceed if the student presents any symptomatology compatible with coronavirus or if he/she comes from a risk area or not (updated links with the guidelines of the Health Organization (WHO) are included).

The protocol designed by the University to deal with the consequences of the pandemic can be found at guide . Thus, during the course, random PCR tests will be carried out and a permanent virtual medical office has been set up by telephone and through the e-mail atencioncovid@unav.es. Also, area Covidhas been set up for face-to-face carein the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and a permanentpartnership has been set up with the public health systems in each community.

Volunteers, so that no one is alone

Another section of this guide explains the University's initiative to create a team of volunteers, made up of both students and professionals, who can attend the sick students. Either by accompanying them, or by facilitating the purchase of food and/or medicine, or by carrying out cleaning tasks. A continuouscontact will also be established with family members who deem it appropriate and will provide notes, books and material from Library Services.

In addition, from the point of view of professor, each school, School or center has prepared for these sick students to be able to continue their classes remotely.
