University of Navarra professor Alejo Sison, elected president of the network European Business Ethics Association.

The executive committee of the association, which brings together more than 1,300 members in Europe, meets this weekend in Pamplona.

Alejo Sison, professor at the University of Navarra, has been elected president of the network European BusinessEthics Network (EBEN). The Executive committee of this association, which brings together more than 1,300 members from all over Europe, meets this weekend at campus in Pamplona.

The network EBEN is the largest and oldest European organization dedicated to promote business ethics in industry, the public sector, volunteer activities and academia.

The meeting will follow up on the conferences organized by the institution and will address the various initiatives of research that arise from its members, as well as other developments in this field.

Promote the research and teaching on business ethics.

University of Navarra professor Alejo Sison was elected president at the EBEN General Assembly held during the lecture Annual Meeting in Athens. Among the priorities of his mandate, which will last until 2014, he highlights "promoting excellence in research and teaching business ethics; expansion, especially to Eastern European countries; and strengthening the dialogue with different stakeholders, in particular corporate partners, NGOs, etc., to achieve common goals more efficiently".

Alejo Sison is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Navarra and researcher of high school business and Humanism and the IESE Center for Business and Society. His programs of study focuses on the overlaps between ethics, Economics and politics. His latest book is entitled Corporate Governance and Ethics. An Aristotelian Perspective (Cheltenham, UK/Northampton, MA: Edward Elgar, Ltd., 2008), with a foreword by Professor Jeffrey Pfeffer of Stanford.
