Marisol works at laboratory of advanced therapies for solid tumors in children at the Clínica. Every day she feels a reality that affects 1,000 children in our country every year. She and Lucía, her colleague, easily see the person behind the data: "When you put a face to those samples you can't help thinking that they are people who trust you and your work. That makes you financial aid to work better".
Ana's experience is somewhat different. She cares for children as patients by being a nurse in pediatric practices. "The attention with them is very special. The concept of time, the bequest of life, even pain, acquires a different prism than the one you can have with an adult. It involves daily learning and constant empathy."
The same thing happens to Angelines, pediatric hospitalization supervisor, whose attention day-to-day work with families makes her very aware of the task at hand: "Of course the priority is for them to be cured, but in the process it is necessary to show our empathy, listening to them and supporting them".
In addition, "it is also very important to get the child to play and have fun during his stay at the Clinic, as it will help him to have a little less hard times and his family will see him enjoying himself".
