Activities in the Schools

The University of Navarra celebrated the investiture of 199 doctors from 25 countries. Of these, 17 belong to the Schools Ecclesiastics: 7 from the School of Canon Law, 7 from the School of Theology and 3 from the School Ecclesiastics of Philosophy. [+]

 

 

 

The group of research 'Science, Reason and Faith'. organized the seminar 'El diálogo actual de ciencia y teología natural en el mundo anglosajón: el caso de Antony Flew' (The current dialogue between science and natural theology in the Anglo-Saxon world: the case of Antony Flew). It was given by Juan Arana, Full Professor of the University of Seville, and founder and director of the journals programs of study Bibliográficos de Philosophy and Thémata.

 

 

 

thesis Two doctoral dissertations were defended at the School of Theology, the School of Canon Law and the School Ecclesiasticus of Philosophy: Michal Zadworny presented 'The Reception of the Encyclical Humanae Vitae in Polish Theological Journals in the Years 1968-2000'; Joenick S. Territorio, 'Canonical Obedience in the Juridical Status of Clerics'; and Rusell Alivio Bantiles, 'God, Faith and Reason in the Philosophy of Nicholas Wolterstorff'.

 

 

Off-site activities Schools

Juan Chapa, Dean of the School of Theology, intervened in the IV conference 50 years of the finding of the Derveni Papyrus', held at the University of Salamanca.held at the University of Salamanca. He gave the lecture lecture 'Were the Christians of Oxyrhynchus irreverent? The attitude towards biblical texts'.

 

 

 

Professor Fermín Labarga, from the School of Theology, will participate from June 4 to 6 in the National conference of Diocesan Delegates of Brotherhoods and Confraternities, organized by the department Pastoral de Pastoral de Santuarios, Peregrinaciones y Piedad Popular of the lecture Spanish Episcopal. He will offer the discussion paper "The Feast of Corpus Christi and the confraternities of the Blessed Sacrament". In the conference will also participate the Archbishop of Granada, Bishop Javier Martínez; and the auxiliary bishop of Barcelona, Bishop Sebastià Taltavull.

 

 

Professors José Ramón Villar and Pablo Blanco from School of Theology will intervene in the International Course of update Theology organized by the Center of programs of study and Communication (CEDESCO) of Lima (Peru). I believe in the Church' will take place from June 23 to 25 and will deal with the Second Vatican Council, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

 

 

 

Prof. Francisco Gallardo will present a paper on violence and religion in the X congress International Philosophical Anthropology 'War and Peace: Philosophical Perspectives'.. It is organized by the Hispanic Society of Philosophical Anthropology and will be held in Alicante from June 26 to 28.

 

 

 

Francisco Varo, professor of the School of Theology and University Chaplain of the University, participated in the Eucharist that was celebrated on the occasion of the 50th Javierada of the sick, elderly and health workers. The Eucharist, which took place in the Juan de Jaso Auditorium, culminated the pilgrimage and was presided over by Archbishop Francisco Perez, Archbishop of Pamplona and Tudela.
