There is only one way to go: work harder and improve productivity

It is outrageous the position of certain political and union leaders who, with their defense of the current status quo, defend the bad worker instead of the good worker or the unemployed in search of work.

THE forecasts for unemployment in Spain continue to be alarming. It is predicted to continue to grow next year, and then slowly begin to recover. It is up to the new government to take measures to get back on the path to growth and job creation employment. It is, in my opinion, indisputable that there is a need to favor hiring by providing economic aid and tax advantages for hiring. There is also a need to make the labor market more flexible.

María Dolores de Cospedal said that businessmen are afraid of hiring. They know that it can be costly to dismiss, even in cases of inefficient workers or crisis situations. Workers must have a certain level of protection - twenty days? but so must companies. Reducing firing costs would lead to a greater generation of employment and an increase in productivity. The efficient and committed worker cares little about severance pay; who cares about it is the lazy and lazy worker who takes advantage of the status to work less and worse. It is outrageous the position of certain political and union leaders who, with their defense of the current status quo, defend the bad worker instead of the good worker or the unemployed in search of work.

I doubt that the negotiations of the social agents will reach a good end or that the solution, a compromise, will be sufficiently forceful. I hope that the Government will do what it has to do, as its President said. I also hope that our society becomes aware that the way out of the crisis is to work more and be more productive, because others are ahead of us. We have a lot at stake, because either we understand this or status will only get worse.
