Fashion and adolescence: between imitation and individuality
Adolescence is a transitional period in which the subject develops his or her own identity. In this process, style choices play a very important role; the adolescent is vulnerable to fashions, as he/she wishes to integrate into the social group . The adoption of stylistic models without considering their significance can lead to a loss of modesty or a fall into superficiality. Encouraging their critical thinking and the development of their own values can contribute to the training of a solid identity, which will give them a certain independence with respect to fashions.
