The development of any country depends, to a large extent, on its human capital. The greater the pool of talent, the greater the wealth and the possibility of growth. Hence the importance of the training of the new generations.

Each university has its own project, from agreement to mission statement, its environment, its history and its resources. We know that the universities that are at the top of the rankings coincide in being excellent in teaching, in research and in the transfer of knowledge. The challenge is to discover how these objectives are achieved.

From entrance, we could say that talent attracts talent. The best universities train educated, creative and caring citizens, generate science, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide society with a great contribution of cultural, educational and health services.

THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT
At the base of all this is a motivating work environment, an environment that allows the development of wide-ranging projects and a culture of partnership. A university is what the people who work in it want it to be. It becomes necessary to promote motivating environments for its professors and researchers, which combine a high Degree of autonomy and a stimulating intellectual environment. Committed professionals are the ones who make the greatest effort to advance in their field of knowledge.

In this sense, trust becomes a factor core topic to generate innovation, creativity and progress. In a climate of trust there is no fear of taking risks or making mistakes. Information is shared and conversations are held, at classroom, in offices, at Library Services or at laboratory. Between teachers, between teachers and students, and among students.

partnership INTERDISCIPLINARY AND international outreach
In this climate of collaborative work , the progress of knowledge often arises from the pooling of different approaches and scientific disciplines. The partnership financial aid overcomes the fragmentation of knowledge. Everyone is a specialist in their area and follows the methodology of their discipline, but also takes the time to listen to other sciences to enrich their research.

The current arrangement by Schools is a way of organizing oneself that has its history and its meaning, but also its limits. In solving the problems of today's world, diagnoses and proposals must take into account different knowledge and different professional perspectives working hand in hand.

Seeking this balance between continuity and innovation is core topic in order to have better universities and attract talent. On this path, the promotion of the international outreach of our campus, through the mobility of teachers, the incorporation of professors/researchers and foreign students and the promotion of stays and internships of national students in other countries, plays an essential role. The fact that people from different cultures, languages, races and geographic origins coexist in universities is a formative reality in itself and a great attraction, because it forms open-minded individuals, who are interested in the ideas of others and respect those who do not share their opinions.

The aforementioned characteristics - a suitable environment for teachers and researchers, the interdisciplinary partnership and the international outreach create an attractive scenario for students.

The theoretical training and internship of student can be enriched with many other ingredients.
ingredients: the expansion of the scholarship program, a qualified career service, which is in permanent dialogue with companies; the improvement of libraries, the promotion of sports, environmental, social and cultural activities; the training in social and environmental responsibility, awareness-raising on volunteer activities, etcetera. Young people who come to the university want to be students, but also researchers, artists, sportsmen and women, entrepreneurs, people who show solidarity, future professionals who are starting out in a decent working life.

HOPEFUL FUTURE
There is still a long way to go, but great progress has been made in our university system. In fact, in some rankings we already have Spanish universities in prominent positions among the almost 20,000 university institutions around the world: for example, in the ranking of universities under 50 years old, in the employability ranking or in the ranking of university business schools. To continue moving in this direction, we need to maintain an innovative spirit.

Spain is a very attractive country for young Europeans and this is reflected in the great demand for stays within the Erasmus program. We have an opportunity to attract talent to compensate in the future for the foreseeable fall in internal demand due to the birth rate leave , avoiding the closure of many degrees and improving our teaching. In addition, these students will boost postgraduate program and bring quality, international vision and resources to universities and the Spanish Economics .

HISTORICAL WEALTH, language AND GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION
We have a centuries-old university tradition, as well as a rich artistic, historical and cultural heritage. The Spanish language , which we share with 400 million inhabitants on the planet, as well as the geographical status , which constitutes a bridge between Europe, America and Africa, can favor the arrival of students not only from Europe but from all over the world.

We are not facing an easy challenge , because difficulties are not lacking, but the universities that get it right with their approach will be able to attract talent. The fundamental thing has not changed, and that is that young people come to university with enthusiasm, with a lot of future and little past, with a certain capacity to dazzle? And that is the great raw subject and the great hope we have.
