The choice of the Degree to be studied is one of the most important and probably the most complex decisions. We must bear in mind that there are multiple itineraries, currently 2,413 Degrees in Spain, so it is vital to gather as much information as possible, know the academic programs very well, analyze the study plans, ask about the content and approach of the internships and apply for information from the different universities. Here are some suggestions for those who have completed the program: 1. high school diploma

How can we know what suits us without knowing who we are, Plato asked. The Degree chosen must be adapted to your capabilities, according to your way of being, hence the importance of deepening the knowledge of oneself. You must identify your strengths and interests. Knowing what you really like is not as easy as it seems, so it is important to have the financial aid of your family or a delegate that can guide you.

There are always factors that influence your decision such as fashionable professions, friendships, the training received in the center of high school program, the professions of the family environment, the economic status ... It is useful to listen to other people's opinions, analyze what others have said or written, assign value or weight to these tips and opinions, but ultimately the decision is staff, of oneself.

3. It is important to choose a degree program that fits our vocational interests. In a survey elaborated by the University of Navarra that was applied to all students enrolled in 1st year during the year 2010-2011, 74% of the students chose the degree program because of vocation, 42% because of employment opportunities and 10% because of family tradition. There are degrees where vocation still has a more decisive weight such as: Medicine (93.1%), Architecture (93.8%) Philosophy and Letters (91%) while in others the determining factor is employment opportunities: Economics (83.0%), Law (59.3%) and Pharmacy (58.1%).

4.Which degrees have the highest employability rate?. From the point of view of employment rate, we maintain that "There are no careers with opportunities, only people with opportunities". A simple university degree scroll is no guarantee of a employment. What is fundamental is that the student who passes through the University is prepared from the beginning not only to acquire an academic training , but also to be trained in competencies and to aspire to an integral training . According to the latest study of employment rate of the University of Navarra, which is carried out annually among its graduates, the knowledge of languages, stays abroad, computer skills and internships during the degree program are the main skills requested in the positions offered.

5In order to find a balance between vocational interests and increasing employment opportunities, it is highly recommended to specialization, either during degree program by taking a pathway or diploma of specialization, or upon completion of a graduate program or doctorate.

6.Another factor that contributes to improve the university training and the experience lived at the University is the possibility of carrying out international exchanges with other Universities during the degree program. To this end, it is advisable to make sure that the exchanges are established with universities of high academic level.

7.The training internship in companies during the degree program is essential to acquire skills and broaden knowledge, as well as to find financial aid employment at the end of the programs of study.

8.The experience of being a university student goes beyond the classroom, so it is advisable to participate in other activities that help to obtain a comprehensive training (art, culture, sports, volunteer activities...).

9.Finally, we must think about what the coexistence and the atmosphere of companionship with students from different geographical origins can contribute during the years of programs of study university. In our case, the first year had been a leap in maturity for half of the students surveyed, especially because they had left home to study and had lived in a multicultural environment.
