8,500 enrolled in new MOOC Nutrition, genes and health

The course answers questions such as what is chrononutrition, what is the future of genetic testing and what are functional foods?

16 professors and researchers of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, theClínica Universidad de Navarra and the research center in Nutrition of the University of Navarra are teaching the new MOOC course"Nutrition, genes and health", which will begin on March 1 and already has almost 8,500 people registered.

Structured through a series of questions core topic which are answered in six didactic units - such as: is it written in my genes what I can or cannot eat, what is the future of genetic testing, what is chrononutrition, what are the instructions of functional foods - the course lasts seven weeks and involves 21 hours of study. During the course, experts will explain why obesity and its comorbidities are a priority for public health, using the knowledge, equipment and techniques of the units of research that have made the University of Navarra a center of reference letter in Nutrition.

MOOC courses ( Massive Online Open Courses) are massive open online courses with an unlimited number of people who can enroll in them, as they are taught entirely online and are free of charge, issue . The University of Navarra has launched several courses in this format on different topics, such as essay on the Internet, the microbes that surround us and hospital pedagogy. All of them are divided into teaching units that require between 12 and 21 hours of dedication on the part of the students.
