The Professor Emeritus of the School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra, Eloy Tejero, has published recently Christ in the city. Structure of the first Christian communities. It is a book that explains the existential composition of the Christian communities of the first three centuries of the Christian Era.

According to the expert, it was in the domestic spheres of the cities that Christians "found the environments of freedom necessary to receive the Gospel and to be able to participate in the life of the communities that were born and grew thanks to the activities carried out by the apostolic ministry".

For the elaboration of the work, Professor Tejero analyzed the data offered by the Christian sources of the time, bearing in mind also the constitutional order of the cities, which, based on the religious character of the houses and other internal Structures to the citizenship, are the precedents that allow us to see the background harmony that Christianity offered, as a domestic religion, with the life of the cities. instructions "From this perspective we can also perceive the social success of the Christians, in spite of the persecutions promoted at that time by the imperial power", assures the author.

The book, addressed to those interested in critical analysis of the origins of Christianity and Christian antiquity, is also addressed to any reader open to knowledge of the historical processes related to the impact of Christianity on the life of peoples.

Eloy Tejero is Professor Emeritus of History of Canon Law at the University of Navarra. He holds a PhD in Canon Law from the same academic center, where he was a professor between 1969 and 2009.
