Emotional culture and identity
Ana Marta González has made a three-month research stay in the department from Philosophy of Harvard University (USA). In the American campus he has developed the project 'Culture, identity internship and moral obligation in Christine M. Korsgaard'.
Pilar León presented the discussion paper 'La imagen corporal en pacientes con poliomielitis (1950-1959)' in the conference 'El challenge de la erradicación de las enfermedades infecciosas: viruela y polio', of the group of research of the University of Castilla La Mancha 'Salud, Historia y Sociedad' (SALHISOC). (Ciudad Real, 02-03/07/2015).
Public discourse
Ruth Breeze gave the discussion paper 'Situating academic discourse in broader discursive domains: the case of legal academic writing' at the congress Corpus Linguistics 2015 at Lancaster University (UK, 21-24/07/2015). He also gave the lecture 'Methodological issues in discourse analysis: exploiting synergies with corpus linguistics and framing theory' at the Interdisciplinary Discourse Studies Summer Course at the University of Aalborg. (Aalborg, Denmark, 24-26/08/2015).
Cristóbal Pagán has begun a six-month stay at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh. In addition, he gave a talk at discussion paper in the framework of his project EMOCCC, funded by the BBVA Foundation: 'Conceptual integration templates in diachrony: Imaging Emotions in Greek Poetry'. It took place at the International Cognitive Linguistics Conference(Newcastle, UK, 20-25/07/2015).
Inés Olza, Jan Zienkowski, Adriana Gordejuela and Dámaso Izquierdo presented the following papers at the 14th International Pragmatics Conference (14th IPrA Conference): 'Co-speech gesture: A pragmatic approach based on big multimodal data', 'Critical discursive interventions as counter-hegemonic strategies', 'Metatextual devices in Notorious (Alfred Hitchcock, 1946)' and 'Challenging the classical conceptual definitions of evidentiality. A case study of French and Spanish visiblement/visibly and some related markers'. (Antwerp, Belgium, 26-31/07/2015).
Carmen Llamas attended the XXXIV Romanistentag. Romanistik und Ökonomie: Struktur, Kultur, Literatur, section 'Decir la crisis: palabras, textos, discursos', held at the Universität Mannheim. Presented the communication 'Metaphors of the crisis in the Spanish press (2008-2014): discursive construction of the outline of the CONTENEDOR' (Germany, 26-29/07/2015).
Ricardo Jimenez presented the poster 'Studying the framing of the Muslim veil in Spanish editorials' at the congress Corpus Linguistics 2015 at Lancaster University (UK, 21-24/07/2015).

Carlos Beltramo gave the seminar-workshop'Education sexual and public policies', directed to staff directive of the Plan Familia Ecuador, dependent of the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador. José Ignacio Murillo, Miguel García-Valdecasas and Luis Echarte intervened in the Workshop 'Philosophy of Neuroscience. Neuroscience asks the Philosophy. congress Determinism and Indeterminism: From Neuroscience to Philosophy' at the Austral University. The first offered the discussion paper 'Are neurobiological processes compatible with the establishment of ends, especially by a voluntary agent? Is it possible to speak of finality and free will without a framework of reference letter indeterminism?'; the second, 'Can a complex and organized structure, such as the brain, be the seat of a non-reductionist mental causation compatible with freedom?'; and the third, 'Is an epistemological or semantic dualism of the mental and the neural viable without some class of ontological duality, such as that of mind and body?' Carlos Centeno attended the meeting de Verano de Education Médica 'Innovaciones y desafíos en Education médica', organized by the Chair en Education Médica de la Fundación Lilly (San Lorenzo de El Escorial, 06/07/2015). He also attended the II Symposium of multidisciplinarity in Bioethics - Bioethical Perspectives of Palliative Care at the University of La Sabana (Bogota, Colombia, 19-25/07/2015). In addition to participating in the symposium, he visited the Clinic of the Universidad de la Sabana and met with the University Secretary and with professors of the Departments Bioethics and Law of the Colombian campus .
María Arantzamendi was part of a tribunal of thesis at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Barcelona, 02/07/2015).
Religion and Civil Society
Javier Gil did two months of research at department in History at Columbia University under the direction of Professor Anders Stephanson. In addition, he did research at the Ronald Reagan Foundation on U.S. policy in the religious conflict in Lebanon in the 1980s.
Daniel Moulin has conducted an ethnographic study of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago (18/07-21/08/2015).
Rafael Garcia Perez gave a lecture on Islam and the West at San Ignacio de Loyola University addressed to the students of International Office (Lima, Peru, 10/07/2015).
