The School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, in partnership with the Fundación Amigos del Museo del Prado, has organized the lecture series Francisco Calvo Serraller. The sessions will take place on Wednesdays, January 26, February 2, 9 and 16, in the theater of the Museo Universidad de Navarra.

In its sixth edition, experts from the national art gallery will address in various sessions the life and work of Renaissance artists such as Giotto, Rogier van der Weyden, Alonso Berruguete and Sandro Botticelli, whose creativity made the 15th century (with its preamble in the 14th century) one of the most important periods in the history of art.

The sessions will be given by the art historian Alberto Pancorbo, manager of department of Activities of the Friends of the Prado Museum Foundation; José Juan Pérez Preciado, of area of Flemish Painting and Northern Schools of the Prado Museum; David García Cueto, head of department of Italian and French Painting until 1800 of the Prado Museum; and Joan Molina, head of department of Spanish Gothic Painting of the Prado Museum.

The general price of the complete cycle is 60 euros, with a special price of 48 euros for different groups. There is also the possibility of acquiring single sessions for 20 euros, prior registration and withdrawal of tickets on the web or at locker of the Museum.

The Museo del Prado conferences have been held for more than 35 years in Madrid and other major capitals. Its organization in Pamplona is part of the relationship that exists between the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra and the Fundación de Amigos del Museo del Prado, through the internships of students and the activities developed by professors of the area of Art History. The activity has the sponsorship of Viscofan and the partnership of the Fundación Diario de Navarra and the Museo Universidad de Navarra.
