115 university students combine study and competitive sport

/115 university students combine competitive sports and programs of study thanks to the Sports Talent Program of the University of Navarra.

The University of Navarra has celebrated the closing ceremony of the Sports Talenta program that enables students to compete in different sports disciplines while they are completing their Degree or postgraduate program programs of study . This edition has had 115 participants -70 women and 45 men-, from 12 Schools, practicing 25 sports.
The event, promoted by the Spanish Olympiccommittee and Iberdrola, included a roundtable with the degree scroll "Promoting equality in sport". Moderated by Cristina Torrens, professional tennis player ranked 27 WTA, it counted with the intervention of Manuel Parga, director of Marketing, Sustainability and Human Resources of the COE, and the Olympians Yolanda Soler, judoka, bronze medal in Atlanta 1996 and diploma in Barcelona 92 and Asier Martinez, athlete, Olympian in Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2020.
At the end, and on behalf of her classmates, Alina Gaynullina, Sports Talent Program student and national Olympic shooting champion in her native country, Russia, thanked the Schools, the Sports Service and the program itself, the opportunity to have had the opportunity, with effort and dedication, to combine university programs of study with the high-level sports internship .
The Sports Talent Program, now in its 13th edition, allows student-athletes to make their training and competition schedules compatible with their academic schedules, making it possible to change exam dates, internships, work assignments, etc. for sports-related reasons. All this goes beyond the university stage thanks to the Alumni program that serves as a networking network .
