02 | 09 | 2024

The technology center Ceit will showcase its latest innovations for the railroad sector from September 24 to 27 at the Innotrans trade fair in Berlin (Germany).

The technology center Ceit will once again participate in InnoTrans, the leading international trade fair for transport technology, which will take place in Berlin from September 24 to 27, 2024. On this occasion, Ceit will exhibit its latest developments for the railway sector at booth 330b in Hall 24, where it will share space with InspectRail, the startup specialized in inspection and monitoring of railway infrastructures, recently promoted by the center.

InnoTrans, divided into five major segments covering rail technology, infrastructure, public transport, interiors and tunnel construction, has established itself as one of the world's most relevant events in its sector, attracting major global players in transport and innovation.

Ceit 's participation in this edition underlines its continued commitment to leading companies in the rail sector, including Alstom, Adif, Bombardier, CAF, Knorr-Bremse, Network Rail and Pandrol.

Four demonstrators

Throughout the fair, Ceit will present its most recent innovations, developed on the framework of the European project Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking (EU-Rail), whose goal is to offer, through an integrated system approach , a high-capacity, flexible, multimodal, sustainable, reliable and integrated European rail network for passengers and freight. Key innovations that Ceit will showcase include:

  • An axle-mounted energy harvesting system that solves the energy constraints of freight cars, enabling their digitization and improving their operational performance.
  • An innovative, physically model-based track crossing monitoringmodel to optimize infrastructure and maintenance costs.
  • A method of track repair based on additive manufacturing with Laser Cladding technology to reduce costs in maintenance processes, extending the useful life of the railway infrastructure.
  • A demonstrator for the digitization of rail freight transport, including functionalities such as train composition, wagon and load monitoring, and an advanced driver dashboard.

Ceit 's presence at InnoTrans 2024 reinforces its position in the rail industry's innovative ecosystem and allows it to connect with buyers and sellers of passenger and freight transport globally.
