Pope Francis appoints Pablo Jourdan (TEO'01) as new auxiliary bishop of Montevideo

Pope Francis has appointed Pablo Jourdan (TEO'01) as the new auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Montevideo, position , which he assumed on Sunday, September 30, when he was ordained by Cardinal Daniel Sturla in the Cathedral of Montevideo. Until now he was a priest in the Diocese of Minas and pastor of San Carlos Borromeo, in the town of José Pedro Varela, in La Valleja.
A native of Montevideo, he is 54 years old and has a doctorate in Medicine from the University of the Republic (Uruguay). He was ordained a priest in 1995 and in 1999 he came to the University of Navarra to study theology at licentiate degree , degree scroll , which he obtained in 2001.
