Two alumnae of Degree in Management Assistant, pioneers in Paris

In the 2016-17 academic year, ISSA - School of Management Assistants and the Institute of Intercultural Management and Communication (ISIT) in Paris signed an agreement partnership agreement agreement whereby graduates in attendance de Dirección - Management Assistant of the University of Navarra can take the official Master's Degree Intercultural Management in the French capital.

When Mercedes García-Gallardo (ISSA '17) and María del Mar Sevilla (ISSA '17) finished their programs of study degrees at the University last May, they moved to Paris to take this postgraduate course, thus becoming the first students at School to benefit from agreement: "I decided to take the Master's Degree in Intercultural Management at ISIT because I wanted to deepen my knowledge and skills in international business and, at the same time, improve my French," explains Mercedes. For her part, María del Mar assures that before finishing her programs of study at Degree, "I was very clear that I wanted to go to France, to improve my language and soak up its culture. It was then that I discovered ISIT's Master's Degree , based on the intercultural nature of the business".

In France, the programs of study is three years for Degree and two years for graduate studies. However, the main advantage of the agreement is that our students have the opportunity to complete this Master's Degree in just one academic year, since many subjects taken at the University of Navarra are validated. One of the biggest advantages, as Mercedes explains, "is that the economic expense is reduced by half. In addition, you get the same degree scroll as your classmates, who spend two years instead of one to complete the Master's Degree". María del Mar agrees with her classmate, although she assures that "I'm sad to see it end, because I love student life, but doing a two-year Master's Degree in one year is great".

They say that this postgraduate course is giving them a lot: "It is very practical. Everything is based on assignments and presentations at group and there are no exams. In addition, the participation in class is quite active, as there are many practical cases," says Mercedes. "My level of French has improved in an incredible way, also because I speak every day with my friends at residency program and in the street. On the other hand, I have discovered that I love content marketing and the way of doing business in each country. Besides, I can boast that I have done a Master's Degree and that I am doing my internship in Paris", says Maria del Mar.

In Intercultural Management, students receive six months of academic training and dedicate six months to internships. Mercedes is doing her internship at area Marketing and development International of "Bagllerina Paris", a French high-end shoe brand, which is in the process of expansion plenary session of the Executive Council . Maria del Mar is also developing her internship in a business that is taking its first steps: "I am as Business Developer at "Firebnb", a start-up where I chose to do my internship because you learn a lot working in this subject of companies and you never know what is going to happen".

Asked about her future plans, Mercedes explains that she would like to work in the world of fashion or in the organization of sporting events: "In the three internships I have done so far, I have had the opportunity to organize events, and it has always been the part of my work that I have liked the most and in which I see that I can excel". Maria del Mar, for her part, plans to move to Lyon where she would like to "work in a marketing business to be able to take advantage of the first years of professional experience and learn as much as I can".
