The proposal presented by Sandra Pérez, a sophomore Biology student from the University of Navarraresult was the winner of the I Contest for the creation of a logo for the School of Sciences. The jury valued "thethe originality of the proposal, -chosen from among more than ten-, that it united the three Degrees of the School and that it was attractive for the purpose for which it was created.". The award consisted of a tablet.
As the author explains, "the logo represents an owl as a symbol of wisdom and in reference letter a Environmental Biology (area of zoology), with the wing in the shape of a leaf, alluding to Botany. This (the owl) is supported on the DNA strand, by biochemists and clinical biologists". He also emphasizes: "The molecule on its chest is one of the instructions of DNA; the cytosine for the C of science, and I have included the letters BQB(Biology, Chemistry y Biochemistry ) on the animal's eyes and beak".
The delegate of the School, Pablo Reclusa, and the subdelegate, Gemma Vila, promoters of the contest, place the starting point of this initiative on November 15 (day of the patron saint of the School), when the new T-shirts that lacked a logo were presented. "We decided it was a good time to launch a contest involving students from Degree, Master's Degree and doctorate," they say.
The jury of the contest was formed by two members of Student Representation, in this case the delegate and the subdelegate; a professor of the School of Sciences; a professor of the School of Communication; and a member of the board board of directors.
