The winner of the School of Science's First Logo Design Contest has been announced
The proposal of Sandra Pérez (2nd year Biology) was chosen for its originality, for combining the complete offer of Degrees of the School and for being attractive.
The proposal by Sandra Pérez, a sophomore biology student at the University of Navarra, has result the First Contest for the creation of a logo for the School of Science. The jury praised "thethe originality of the proposal—chosen from among more than a dozen entries—which brought together the Degrees three Degrees programs and was appealing for the purpose for which it was created." The award of a tablet.
As the author explains, "the logo represents an owl as a symbol of wisdom and in reference letter a Environmental Biology (area of zoology), with the wing in the shape of a leaf, alluding to Botany. This (the owl) is supported on the DNA strand, by biochemists and clinical biologists". He also emphasizes: "The molecule on its chest is one of the instructions of DNA; the cytosine for the C of science, and I have included the letters BQB(Biology, Chemistry y Biochemistry ) on the animal's eyes and beak".
The delegate of the School, Pablo Reclusa, and the subdelegate, Gemma Vila, promoters of the contest, place the starting point of this initiative on November 15 (day of the patron saint of the School), when the new T-shirts that lacked a logo were presented. "We decided it was a good time to launch a contest involving students from Degree, Master's Degree and doctorate," they say.
The contest jury consisted of two members of the Student Council—in this case, the president and vice president—a professor from the School of Science, a professor from the School of Communication, and a member of the board .
