The GISICgroup of research on the Support of the Catholic Church, of the School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra, organized the workshop "Practical Questions on the Material Resources of the Church and its Evangelizing mission statement ", to which Bettina Alonso, director of department of development of the Archdiocese of New York, was invited on May 31. Archdiocese of New YorkBettina Alonso, director of the Archdiocese of New York's development office, explained via videoconference how the office works.

The participants in the meeting were able to learn first hand about Bettina's work ; with more than twenty professionals at her position, the department she directs is in charge of raising funds to develop the diocese's mission statement and to implement the programs demanded by the new evangelization.

Alonso expressed her interest in speaking at a forum of this nature and being able to share her experience in the last sixteen months since Cardinal Dolan asked her to become position of this office. For her it is an exciting adventure since the challenges facing the Archdiocese are not small. Initiatives such as the Sheen Center (an arts center in Manhattan) or the annual giving campaign were some of the experiences she presented. For 45 minutes he also answered questions from experts from various dioceses and church entities, present at classroom M01 at Amigos Building.
