"It is fortunate to be able to experience the growth of the University and see how it is expanding its mission statement"
Sofía Lavalle (ISSA'18) is assistant director at the University's new Campus in Madrid.
"We ISSA students have one characteristic that distinguishes us, and that is our vocation to be helpful, dynamic and restless," Sofía Lavalle said at the speech she pronounced as a room delegate last June on the occasion of her graduation. And so she is seen in her new work space as assistant director at the new Campus of the University of Navarra in Madrid. Throughout a workshop of work she does tasks as different as receiving guests, organizing events, reserve work spaces, preparing the material for the master students or coordinating trips for professors arriving from Pamplona, Malaga, Barcelona...
The second quarter semester internship at Cuatrecasas helped her land in the professional world. Both there and in her new position, she applies many of the things she learned at degree program, such as streamlining processes, suggesting changes to improve efficiency, working in a team and with people of different ages and backgrounds. However, she emphasizes that what has helped her the most is everything she learned in her Communication and Language classes: knowing how to speak in public and in a professional manner, writing emails in a concise and appropriate way.
She is especially excited to continue to be linked to the University, now from the professional side: "It is incredible to be part of this new project and in a city like Madrid. At degree program we learn to study, to work and to approve the exams, at work we forget about formulas and notes. This is the most exciting thing, every day there are new challenges and learning. It is fortunate to be able to experience the growth of the University and see how it is expanding its mission statement".
