Starting with the 2001-2002 academic year, the University of Navarra offers a new subject: Business Creation and Promotion. Beginning in February, approximately 50 students will take this subject the School of Science and Business, which is sponsored by the business of Navarra business Foundation with the goal fostering entrepreneurial spirit and initiative among university students.

Its content will be mainly practical. Students will have the opportunity to develop an individual business plan with expert business advice. The assessment will mainly assess the consistency and viability of this plan, which will be defended by each student.

Business Creation and training Business is part of a set of activities that the Foundation business-University of Navarra promotes to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of university students. In this sense, this institution has several programs, such as the Innovamás project contest, conference of awareness and business motivation aimed at students and graduates of the different Schools or courses of training initial on how to set up a business and be an entrepreneur.

No prior training is required to take subject, taught by Ricardo Mateo, a professor at the School of Science and Business at the University of Navarra. The subject intended for students in the second cycle of licentiate degree in the final year of diploma program any degree program. All that is required is a computer to participate in a business simulation game that models the management key variables and to use the Internet when developing the business plan.

In addition, the subject offers the possibility of a complementary online training and the intervention of entrepreneurs who will offer their experience to the students. The program will also explain, for example, how to start a new business, what is the profile of the entrepreneur, how to launch a business without financial resources, what is the economic control of a business or how to carry out the marketing of a new product.
