Pamplona will host the Spanish Cross-Country Championships for schoolchildren

Next March 15, test for U16 and U18 categories will be held at the facilities of the University of Navarra.

The Spanish School Age Cross Country Championship will be held at the University of Navarra on March 15, by regional teams. In the test will participate 500 young people and will be adapted and inclusive, as it will include athletes with intellectual disabilities, 7%.

Raúl Chapado, president of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, participated in the presentation, which took place in the academic center: "One of the objectives is that the internship of sport is understood as an inclusive, egalitarian internship , based on respect for the rival and the rules, and that young people understand that fair play is the only way", he stressed.

For his part, Rodrigo Domínguez, president of the Navarra Athletics Federation, explained some peculiarities of the circuit, more complicated than usual, which is a "real cross country circuit".

The University of Navarra's Alumni Vice President , Tomás Gómez-Acebo, highlighted the "tradition of popular competitions open to the city and the region held at the University, but in this case it is the first time that a competition of these characteristics has been held". He also stressed the role of sport as an opportunity to train in values and the clear commitment of the University to combine training and sport.

Fernando Aranguren, Pamplona City Councilor for Sports, spoke about the importance of this subject of competitions for the city of Pamplona, as it generates a healthy Economics around sports and puts Pamplona on the map as a competitive city.

Also participating in the presentation were Miguel Pozueta, director General Manager of high school Navarro del Deporte, and Blas Arróniz, president of the Navarre Federation of Adapted Sports.
