The MCPC celebrates its X in Pamplona with the graduation of its tenth graduating class
On Saturday, June 28, the students of the tenth promotion of Master's Degree in Political and Corporate Communication (MCPC) graduated in an academic event that celebrated the ten years of the Master's Degree. The workshop was preceded by a meeting the day before with alumni from different promotions and a fraternization dinner.
At graduation ceremony, the student delegate, Yago Sánchez-Reig, first thanked the teachers and the board Board of Directors of Master's Degree for their dedication to the tasks of training throughout the course. He also recalled the intense moments spent with his colleagues over the last few months in Pamplona, Brussels and Washington.
The master class was given at position by the godmother of the graduating class, Professor Elena Gutiérrez, who focused her speech on professional virtues. She encouraged the graduates to look at communication as if it were a sowing, which requires "time, patience, prudence, perseverance and hope". Professor Gutiérrez stressed that passion and love are essential: "it will keep you firm in not despairing, in avoiding short-termism, in being constant and consistent," she said. He underlined the richness that comes from the serenity of the long deadline, not being afraid to listen and fight for the depth of the messages. All of this, he told the graduates, "will enable you to play a transformational leadership role in organizations".
Representing George Washington University was Professor Lara Brown, Director of the Political Management program at The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM). She gave words of thanks and encouragement to the new graduates in their new career paths.
After the submission of the diplomas, Carlos Barrera, director of the Master for nine years, gave a brief speech on the occasion of the X of the MCPC. Barrera recalled the origins and gestation of the MCPC and made a pleasant review of its nine years of history. Carlos Barrera defended that the differential factor of the MCPC is that "it is a Master with soul".
Jordi Rodríguez Virgili, director of the MCPC, encouraged the new postgraduates to face their professional future with the same disposition and enthusiasm with which they studied Master's Degree, with the "spirit of the MCPC". He also encouraged them to continue on contact with Master's Degree and School and to actively participate in the MCPC alumni community, which now has almost 200 members.
In her closing remarks, the dean of the School, Mónica Herrero, congratulated the postgraduates and recalled the pioneering and avant-garde character that has always characterized the initiatives of the School, of which the MCPC is an outstanding sample .
