Workshop on digital challenges for the banking industry in Frankfurt

The Master's Degree in Banking and Financial Regulation of the School of Economics of the University of Navarra has organized in Frankfurt, headquarters of the European Central Bank, the workshop Digital Challenges for the Banking Industry.
Germán López Espinosa, director of Master's Degree, explained in the introduction to the worksho, held at high school Cervantes in the German city, that there are three major challenges related to technology: Regtech (the use of technologies to improve the flow of information), cloud computing (storage services of data on remote servers, better known as the cloud) and fintech (new financial platforms).
Tecnun researcher Saioa Arrizabalaga presented her research Overview of the latest evolution on IT Platforms, which served as an introduction to the roundtable on cloud computing, which in addition to Ricardo Moreno, director of BBVA Systems, was attended by two executives from the leading companies in this field: Google and Amazon Web Services. Barak Regev from the search engine company reference letter and Attila Narin, from the leading online sales company, discussed the present and future challenges of cloud computing.
Technology applied to financial regulationAfter the coffee break, a supervisor's experience of using cloud services to facilitate and improve his work was explained. This vision was then complemented by Charles Morel, CEO and partner of the consulting firm ML Advisory. After the presentations, a second roundtable, on technology applied to regulatory requirements, brought together Diana Paredes, co-founder and CEO of Suade Consulting, and Matthias Memminger, partner of Bain & Co.
To conclude, Carl Jan Willem, consultant strategic of DNB, gave an insight into the important supervisory work of the new players in the banking industry, the so-called FinTech.
