Antonio López visit the Ensanche Market on the occasion of the University's Painting Workshop, in which 29 artists from 6 countries participate.
"I love to come every year to this market where they sell so many products of the earth, which provide a multitude of forms and colorful". This is what the painter Antonio López said today at the Ensanche Market, during the visit that traditionally opens the 'Painting Workshop Masters of Figuration', which together with Juan José Aquerreta teaches at the University of Navarra.
The painters, accompanied by several media, have toured the different stalls and have chosen the seasonal foods to compose the still life that will paint the 29 students who are part of the workshop this year.
The activity, which is held in the Museum of the academic center, is directed by the professor of the School of Architecture Inmaculada Jiménez and organized by the Service of Cultural Activities Office of the academic center.
The participants, from the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain, will also work for five days on other genres of the figurative tradition, such as the human figure with life models and landscapes, and will have the opportunity to share technical tips and individual and personal explanations with the artists.
lecture open to the publicLikewise, Antonio Lopez and Juan Jose Aquerreta will participate, together with Isabel Quintanilla, on June 8 in a colloquium on 'The presence of women in the group of the realists in Madrid'. It will be held in the Civican auditorium (Avenida Pío XII, 2) at 7.30 p.m. and access is free until fill in capacity.
The painter Antonio López, award Príncipe de Asturias de las Artes (1985), award Velázquez de las Artes Plásticas (2006) and award Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura (2012), has been teaching this workshop since 2006. Antonio López is considered one of the representatives of Spanish realism and is one of the most sought-after painters in the market. In 2011 he was invested honorary doctor by the University of Navarra. Juan Juan José Aquerreta is award Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura 2003 and award Nacional de Artes Plásticas 2011.
