The president of the University of Navarra, María Iraburu, has appointed Ana Choperena as the new dean of the School of Nursing.
Ana Choperena has a diploma in Nursing (2001), a degree in Humanities (2008) with award extraordinary end of degree program and a PhD in History (2014) from the University of Navarra. She has worked as a nurse for seven years in the Hemodialysis service of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
Since 2017 she has been Vice Dean of Office of Academic Affairs -until 2022- and of Students at School Nursing, where she teaches her teaching. She leads the project of research NarratUN, which promotes the use of clinical narratives for the development professional in Nursing and collaborates with the group REDWINN, of the high school Culture and Society, which seeks to give visibility to the female contribution in different fields. She is also a member of group of research Innovation for Person-Centered Care (School de Enfermería). At the international level, she is a member of association NANDA-I, which promotes the use of standardized languages in the field of Nursing and of the group of honor Sigma Theta Tau. She has completed postdoctoral fellowships at the William F. Connell School of Nursing at Boston College - she is a member of the Marjory Gordon Program for clinical reasoning and development of knowledge- and at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA.
