More than 1,600 University students and alumni connect with 177 companies at employment Fair

It was held for the first time in a hybrid format: in person at the postgraduate program headquarters in Madrid and, at the same time, on a virtual platform.

The University of Navarra's employment Fair was held on March 10 online and, for the first time, also in person at the University of Navarra's postgraduate program in Madrid. More than 1,600 students and graduates of the educational center and 177 companies from different sectors participated in the event.

"The employment Fair is a meeting point between companies looking for talent and students and alumni looking for professional opportunities. It allows students to have a first contact with the working world, it is the starting point for the search for opportunities thanks to the networking possibilities it offers," explains the director of the Internship and employment Service of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Vericat.

177 companies participated in the online platform, and 100 of them also attended the postgraduate program in Madrid, such as Accenture, Amazon, EY Spain, Farlabo, Carrefour, National Intelligence Center (CNI), European Commission, Huawei Spain, Iberdrola, L'Oreal, Puy du Fou Spain, Repsol, Zabala Innovation... "What stands out is the diversity of sectors, since they are looking for talent of all subject of professional profiles", saysSara Palomera, 4th year student of the Degree in Marketing. "What I liked the most was the face-to-face contact with the business, I think that the presence is a core topic," says the 4th year student of the Degree in design Lourdes Guerra. Her class, Patricia Kaninga, adds: "It serves as training. The proximity of the companies and seeing people around you who are in the same status as you financial aid to approach the stands".

More than 1,530 students and alumni registered on the virtual platform, and nearly 1,000 attended the Madrid venue. Through a mobile application and a QR code reading system, which connected the on-site modality of the Fair with the online one, students were able to share their CVs with companies. In addition, through the online platform and the app, participants were able to apply for 490 internship and employment offers.

The companies have valued the variety of profiles of the attendees and their preparation. "It has been spectacular, we have not stopped seeing students from different Degrees and Masters; we do not settle for the standard profile , but we seek to find candidates who have different concerns. This diversity of thought is what makes a company grow," says Eduardo Jiménez, from the Recruiting & Talent Specialist team at Farlabo. For her part, Felicitas Escobar, HR Talent Acquisition at L'Oréal, adds that these are "very well-prepared students who ask questions that show a lot of interest.

In addition, throughout the day, 11 training sessions were offered, given by different companies and by the Internship and employment Service. In them, students and graduates were able to learn and acquire tools for the search for internships and employment and enhance their professional development .
