Two professors from the University of Navarra receive a award that recognizes the work of young architects from all over Europe.

Rubén Alcolea and Jorge Tárrago are the winners of one of the 2010 Europe 40 under 40 awards.

Rubén Alcolea, Deputy Director of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, and Jorge Tárrago, director of programs of study of this center, have received one of the 2010 Europe 40 under 40 awards. These awards recognize the work of young programs of study emerging architects and designers from all over Europe.

Rubén Alcolea and Jorge Tárrago are founders of the firm alcolea+tárrago arquitectos. Among other projects, they have designed the Library Services Pública de Castellbell i el Vilar (Barcelona), the proposal for a new Orthodox Church in Skopje (Macedonia), and the roof of the sports court La Figuerassa in Palafolls, a work for which they were recently awarded the VI Ajac Prize for young architects.

award In addition to the two professors from the University of Navarra, other winners were: Olga Felip Ordis and Josep Camps, from Arquitecturia; Laura Álvarez, architect of the School de Arquitectura de Delft, in Holland; and Eva Luque-García, from ELAP Arquitectos Ingenieros SLP, also known as Los del Desierto.

The jury for the 2010 edition was formed by José Manuel Dávila del Cerro, Ignacio Fernández Solla, Ignacio Vicens y Hualde, Paloma Gómez Marín, Fabrizio Barozzi, Jérôme Michelangeli, Stéphane Cottrell and Rafael de La-Hoz.
