The taekwondo team of the University of Navarra has won two medals (one gold and one bronze) at the International Open of Portugal held last weekend in the Portuguese country. The university delegation was composed of four taekwondists, so the satisfaction of the team for these two metals is maximum.

Celia Sequeira, won gold in the senior female -53kg category, after defeating in the semifinals
her namesake, the champion of Madrid, Celia Tortosa, and overcoming in the final the also Spanish Violeta Dominguez.

On the other hand, María Contreras, won the bronze in senior female -57kg. Maria could not overcome her Portuguese rival
in the semifinals, but she won, after a very close fight, a meritorious third place.

As for the boys, Javier Huarte, senior male -74kg, overcame his first rival despite
suffering an ankle injury, but lost his quarterfinal fight, with which he was proclaimed champion.

And finally, Mikel Perez, junior male -63kg, won his first opponent, but also lost
at the medal gates due to a last second referee penalty (9-8).
