More than a hundred students and employees of the University of Navarra participated in the colloquium "Pope Francis and the Family" together with the Archbishop of Pamplona, D. Francisco Perez. In the meeting, the bishop referred to the importance of the family quoting the words of the Holy Father in his encyclical Evangelii Gaudium with which "the Pope wanted to move consciences so that we discover the greatness of families. Nothing is going to be destroyed. How is it possible that 50% of the marriages in Navarre are separated? This is what worries the Pope and that is why he wants to put Christ in the heart of everyone". The prelate stressed the importance of marriage becoming "work of every day" and "a union of total life." "If love is based only on sentimentalism, it ends up dying," he added.

Finally, he referred to the need to dignify the person in the face of the current culture of "discarding" where the young, due to the lack of employment, and the elderly are marginalized. "When man is sustained by true love, he is dignified. In this sense, I have to recognize that Navarra is admirable for the attention that families give to the sick and elderly. Olé' for Navarra".

In the lecture, it was announced the celebration on November 15 of the colloquium Family and Life. It is an event organized by the Diocese of Pamplona and Tudela in which it is intended to reflect on the foundations of human life and at the same time to publicize initiatives that promote and defend life.
