The University signature a pioneering alliance in Spain with beWanted to promote employability among its students.

An event on new recruitment models brought together the founder of beWanted and Huawei HR director

The University of Navarra and beWanted, the largest employment platform for young people in Europe and Latin America, have established a pioneering alliance in Spain to boost employability among students. With this strategy, the academic center aims to change the dynamics of traditional selection and increase the chances of finding quality work by students.

"This is a novel and internationally trendy recruitment formula. Through matchmaking, this platform allows candidate to be visible and reachable by thousands of companies," says Roberto Cabezas, director of Career Services, the University of Navarra's employability service.

The kick-off of this agreement, in which the eleven Schools and schools of campus of Pamplona will participate, was staged at the event "Siete a las siete", which took place on Wednesday, November 7 at Sciences Building of the University. The meeting was attended by Ignacio Luceo, founder of beWanted, and Juan Bru, director HR of Huawei, business leader in technology and active promoter of the matchmaking method.

An algorithm for finding work

This tool is based on an algorithm that connects in a few minutes the interests of candidates with the ideal requirements demanded by companies, so that companies can identify and directly contact the candidates that best fit the profile they are looking for without the need to publish offers on work. "This makes the processes more efficient and faster," he explains.

Roberto Cabezas believes that agreement will also favor recruiting options among alumni:"It will allow us to make available to students and graduates a large number of new possibilities with companies that we do not currently reach. In addition, we will be able to design indicators that will allow us to better take the temperature of the placement of our graduates and establish comparisons with other universities".

For Roberto Cabezas, this system also satisfies the greater involvement demanded by the new generations from universities: "It is no longer enough to accompany them in their search for work and job opportunities: it is about finding a work that responds to their needs, hopes and demands".

The event "Siete a las siete" was part of a week dedicated to employability in the biosanitary sector organized by Schools of Pharmacy and Nutrition, Science and Medicine. It counted with different activities for students aimed at the search for employment, the training and networking. The conference was also attended by several graduates who shared their experience in starting their professional careers both in the private sector and in the programs of specialization spanish pharmacy residency program , biochemistry residency program and spanish medical residency program. In addition, the quotation included direct contact with more than 15 companies and human resources managers from different companies.
