The School of Architecture initiates the events of its 50th Anniversary
In these five decades, the center has trained 7,239 graduates.
The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra has started this morning the events of its 50th anniversary with the presentation of the fiftieth anniversary logo on the facade of the building. This event has been preceded by the lecture of the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus, which has served as the starting point of the #50ETSAUN cycle, which will take place until the closing of the academic year in 2015.
During its five decades of history, the School has trained 5,317 architects, 1,922 technical architects, 519 students at Master's Degree and 214 students at doctorate, in addition to the more than 500 guest professors who have taught class at this center, such as Rafael Moneo and Eduardo Souto de Moura (Pritzker prizes), Kenneth Frampton, Mario Botta, Manuel Aires Mateus and Martin Bechthold.
"For the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra it is a source of pride to belong to the group of dean schools of Spanish architecture. There are many alumni who have been trained in our classrooms and have contributed to the development of our cities with a consolidated professional prestige", said the director of the School, José Ángel Medina.
In this sense, he emphasized that the School "has been a revitalizing focus of culture and urban planning in Navarre thanks to the work of hundreds of architects who have built in Navarre".
lecture by Japanese architect Kengo Kumavisit The program, still to be finalized, will also include the prestigious Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who will give a lecture lecture on February 12, as well as a closing lecture of the 50th anniversary with an international architect on April 24.
The School will also host an academic event with alumni and professors on April 25 at the University of Navarra Museum, followed by the celebration of the 50th Anniversary Gala at School of Architecture, which will conclude the 50th anniversary events and activities.
