Eleonora Esposito, Marie Curie Research Fellow at project 'Public discourse' of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra, will carry out a research stay at the School of Arts and Culture of the University of Newcastle. There, she will work together with Majid KhosraviNik, expert in programs of study from speech and digital media, from March to July 2020.

This partnership is embodied in the joint work of Esposito and KhosraviNik to develop a new theoretical and methodological approach for the area of 'programs of study of speech critical of social networks'. The impetus for this area of research is one of the main thrusts of Esposito's project Marie Curie called WONT-HATE. The project uses a critical and multimodal discursive approach to understand online hostility as a complex digital and social phenomenon.

According to the researcher, KhosraviNik is an expert in discursive practices in digital media in global contexts. He will be able to train in "theory and methodologies to evaluate the impact, dynamism and challenges of new social technologies," she said.
