Last Saturday, March 28th, the School de Enfermería celebrated its Open Doorsworkshop (JPA). Given the health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the state of alarm decreed by the Government, the quotation was held virtually.

At 11 o'clock, about a hundred students from high school diploma students connected live to an online roundtable with the participation of three final year students. Anabel Villero, Fernando Gárate and Ainhoa Bearrondo explained various issues related to Degree in Nursing, such as internships, employment opportunities or international outreach.

"We have to take care of the patient, but we also have to empower him. Make them part of the process. I think it is core topic in Nursing," Ainhoa began explaining. And Anabel, continuing with this general vision of the profession, added: "Processes are important and throughout the degree program many processes are studied and learned. ButNursing has a human side, of accompaniment, which is fundamental, and which no other profession has".

Regarding the doubts that the JPA registrants raised, Ainhoa explained to them how from the beginning practices are carried out at the Simulation Center. "My first contact in the clinical practices was in the Clínica Universidad de Navarra"Fernando told them. "Afterwards I have also worked in public health, in the Hospital Complex and in a health center. All this experience has given me a full vision of the care activity that Nursing has," he concluded.

In addition, JPA participants asked questions about the possibility of studying or doing internships in other countries during the Degree. Anabel, a student of the International Nursing Program, explained the program to them, the requirements to be able to participate in it and her experience in New York. "But it is not the only way to have an international experience during the degree program. There is the possibility of participating in the Erasmus program and other exchange programs, and it is also possible to do voluntary internships abroad," she said.

Finally, Eduardo Herrero, manager of Admissions Office of the School, recalled the process, encouraged to send the application of Admissions Office to those who had not yet done so and explained what the interview staff consists of, which is carried out to all candidates. "Itdoes not seek to assess your academic knowledge, but to get to know you, resolve any doubts you may have and guide you," she reassured them.
