What has your stay consisted of?
I am a senior student at the School of Nursing at the Universidad de los Andes (Chile). Thanks to the agreement that my school has with the School School of Nursing of the University of Navarra I have been able to come and do my last internship at degree program. I have done a four-month internship at the University of Navarra. Clínica Universidad de Navarraspecifically in the area of cardiology and in operating room.
What encouraged you to take the exchange program at School Nursing?
Ever since I started degree program in Chile, I have wanted to go abroad. In my last year of degree program the opportunity arose and I did not hesitate to take it. I had several options, both within Spain and in America. Finally, I decided to come to Pamplona because of the prestige that this university has in my area, Nursing and, above all, because of the references of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, one of the clinics with the highest quality of care that I know.
Would you encourage your peers to do what you have done?
Without hesitation. I have received a very good welcome from people, both teachers and students, who have been interested in everything I was learning and have made sure I felt comfortable at all times. Besides, Pamplona is a beautiful city with many places to visit.
What would you highlight from your internship at Clínica Universidad de Navarra?
What I have learned with regard to the professional internship . I have been able to observe new techniques and new treatments according to different pathologies, I have seen the great interest of the center to develop research, and I have been able to see how nursing is being introduced in these.
Finally, I would like to thank the nurses on the cardiology floor and those at operating room for always being open to my questions and also the mentors who appointed me.
