Chair María Egea, from the School of Nursing at the University of Navarra, organized the IV Lecture on person-centered care. On this occasion, the guest speaker was the researcher Tanya McCance, director of theInstitute of Nursing and Health Research, as well as manager of the research center Person-centered Practice of the University of Ulster (Ireland).

McCance presented her theoreticalmodel of person-centered care, highlighting the idea that 'there is a growing concern for the care of the individual, since each person is different, has different values and experiences. These are aspects that need to be taken into account in nurse-patient relationships." To this end, she stressed the importance of nursing professionals knowing how to listen and be committed to patients. He emphasized a holistic model of care, which entails equal attention to all dimensions of the patient, i.e., not only paying attention to physical care, but also taking into account "the psychological, sociocultural and spiritual field of the person". In this sense, he pointed out the synergies between the care models of the University of Ulster and the University of Navarra, since both focus their research on this way of understanding nursing.
