More than 1,000 University of Navarra alumni from 21 countries returned to Pamplona to celebrate Alumni Weekend 2025. A day to reconnect with classmates, share stories and relive moments.

The event brought together alumni from all the graduating classes of the Schools of Science, Communication, Law, Economics, Education and Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition, Philosophy and Letters, Medicine and the School of Architecture. Special prominence was given to the graduates of the 1975, 2000 and 2015 graduating classes, who celebrated their 50th, 25th and 10th graduation anniversaries, respectively.

The workshop began with meetings in each of the Schools, in which the alumni met with their teachers, visited the class where they taught and learned about the new facilities and projects of their centers.

Afterwards, there was a central event that brought everyone together in the sports center. Íñigo Gutiérrez, director of Alumni, emphasized the intergenerational nature of the meeting: "It is a great joy to see this sports center full of alumni and also members of the Friends of the University association who have joined in this celebration today.

More than 150,000 alumni eager to serve

Inés García Paine, president of Alumni, underscored the global impact of the University's graduates: "Today we have more than 1,000 alumni here, from more than 21 different countries. This is a sample of the richness of the institution, which has more than 150,000 alumni around the world working in different areas with a desire to serve others".

The president, María Iraburu, highlighted how alumni are an essential part of the university community: "You have taken the University of Navarra all over the world, and every time you return you remind us that the history of this institution is written by all of us".

He also presented the 25/30 Strategy, highlighting how the University, since its origins, has lived thanks to the involvement, work and generosity of thousands of people. "And here - he added - you, the alumni, are the protagonists. Thanks to you we can break down barriers for students, attract new professors, boost research and multiply the social impact of the University".

During the meeting there was also a roundtable with alumni Nekane Orella (Communication), manager of projects and Institutional Relations of the Gmp Foundation; Rafael Alonso (Medicine), director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit at Toronto General Hospital in Canada; and Onintza Sayar (Pharmacy), director of operations of the companies NNBi, Biodatup and iGaur.
