First international political and corporate communication meeting in Mexico

The last event of the MCPC's X celebrations brought together two dozen alumni and more than one hundred professionals.

The Master's Degree in Political and Corporate Communication (MCPC) organized, together with the Panamerican University of Mexico, the First meeting of Political and Corporate Communication on October 30 and 31. quotation The event was attended by almost two dozen alumni of Master's Degree and more than a hundred professionals attracted by a program with Spanish and Latin American speakers of great stature, including several professors of the MCPC.

Under the general degree scroll "Communicating to lead", various presentations and debates were held on current issues in the professional and academic fields of political and corporate communication. Representatives of three collaborating entities of Master's Degree participated as speakers: association de Directivos de Comunicación (Dircom), Corporate Excellence-Centre For Reputation Leadership and association de Comunicación Política (ACOP).

During the first workshop, Jordi Segarra, Gisella Rubach and Alberto López Hermida talked about consultancy service politics; Eduardo Robledo, from George Washington University, on strategic governance issues; César Mauricio Velásquez, Jordi Rodríguez Virgili and Guillermo Velasco, on government communication and political leadership; and finally Alonso Cedeño and Rafa Rubio on Politics 2.0 through social networks.

The second day was devoted to a variety of corporate communication topics. Paula Castejón and Elena Gutiérrez focused on strategic communication in companies; Jorge Briceño on digital marketing strategy; Juan Rivera and Mariana Sanz on issues of corporate consultancy service ; Ángel Alloza, director of Corporate Excellence, on reputation in companies; Sebastián Cebrián, University Secretary of Dircom, spoke of the need to work together in the profession, as did Enrique Bustamante in the case of Mexico, while Gabriela Delgado did the same with respect to television audiences.

After the professional workshop organized in Madrid on May 30, and the academic event in Pamplona on June 28, the MCPC wanted to end this cycle of celebrations of its tenth anniversary by approaching Latin America, where approximately forty percent of its graduates work. This was stated by its director Jordi Rodríguez Virgili at the opening presentation of the event. As coordinator of meeting and of the alumni team that promoted it, Ricardo Robles (MCPC'07) stated that "it is the time for communication, but above all for communicators". At the closing ceremony, José Luis Ortiz Garza, Director of the UP School of Communication, emphasized that the meeting "is an act of justice and gratitude to the University of Navarra, which has undoubtedly sown enormous talent in Latin America".

A particularly touching moment was also the specific workshop of alumniThe meeting, which took place on Saturday morning, November 1, was particularly enjoyable for the participants, some of whom came from the United States, El Salvador and Ecuador. Many topics were discussed and proposals of interest for the development of the MCPC in Latin America for the coming years, as well as for the professional careers of all its graduates, emerged.
