279 high school diploma students from 38 Spanish cities participate in the XI Clinical Case Competition

The first award went to the Serotoninas team, made up of three students from the Claret Larraona high school in Pamplona.

On Saturday, March 1, the Madrid Campus of the University of Navarra hosted the XI final of the Clinical Case Competition and convened in the capital the ten finalist teams, who defended their work before a panel formed by alumni of the School of Medicine.

The Serotoninas team, from Claret Larraona of Pamplona, won first award, while second place went to Alianza Médica, made up of students from the Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas high school in Madrid. The podium was completed by the team Médicas MIRN, from Liceo Monjardín de Pamplona. In addition, this edition included recognition for the best presentation, which went to the Altozano 1 team, from the Fomento Altozano high school in Alicante.

The other teams that reached the final were: Médicas (Sagrado Corazónhigh school , from Pamplona), Miravalles - El Redín (from Miravalles - El Redín high school , from Pamplona), Vademécumhigh school San Joséhigh school , from Ciudad Real), MEDIK4, a team formed by members from Santa Cruz Tenerife, Pamplona and San Sebastián, Estudiantes DSV,high school Alemánhigh school from Valencia), and CIA (Compañía de María from Zaragoza).

This competition is a pioneering activity in Spain that offers a first class university experience to students who are considering studying a degree program in the biosanitary area . Based on real clinical cases, and organized in teams of three or four students, the goal is to establish an accurate diagnosis and an appropriate treatment for the patient. During the different phases of the competition, each team has the support of a tutor, in charge of guiding and resolving any doubts that may arise during the activity.
