The University of Navarra hosts the XXI Edition of the Literary Excellence Award

The School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra has hosted the conference of Literary Excellencea program dedicated to the training and promotion of young talents in the field of writing.

The opening of this XXI edition was presided over by Miguel Aranguren, director of the Program; Isabelle Clair Murray, from the development area of the School of Philosophy and Letters; and Carmen Llamas, director of the department of Philology of the School and Academic Director of the Program.

For three days, the students participated in various activities designed to enrich their literary training , including writing workshops taught by professionals such as Daniel Franco, graduate in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Navarra, writer and founder of the publishing house Graviola; or Roberto Valencia, writer and literature professor. In addition, they have enjoyed some thematic sessions, such as "Reality and fiction: the world around us", position Rodrigo Gimeno, PhD student of the department of Culture and Audiovisual Communication at the University of Navarra, and "Trazos de tinta, trazos de vida", position Pilar Saiz, coordinator of the Degree in Literature and Creative Writing.

The program also included practical activities such as "Painting with words", a tour of the contemporary art collection of the University of Navarra Museum, where participants were able to write stories inspired by the works on display. They also enjoyed evening literary gatherings at the Belaguahigh school Mayor and a poetry recital with students from the University.

The conference concluded with the submission of awards, in a ceremony held in the Magna classroom of the Central Building and presided over by Miguel Aranguren and Javier de Navascués, Full Professor of Spanish-American Literature at the academic center.

Excelencia Literaria is a project that, since 2004, seeks to discover and train young writers in Spain, Mexico and Peru, giving them the opportunity to publish their stories and articles as a springboard for their literary degree program . The program encourages the habit of reading and creative writing, offering personalized tutoring and promoting the publication of outstanding works in various media. In addition, it works closely with the University of Navarra to provide first-rate literary training to participants.
