Two graduates of the University of Navarra have received the 2010 Chamber Scholarships. They are the biologist Raúl Catena and the architect Israel Nagore Setién, who were selected among 34 candidates. With the winners of this edition, there are now 8 professionals who have benefited from these grants to study abroad postgraduate program .

Raúl Catena is graduate in Biology and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Navarra. Since 2009 he is training at the department thoracic surgery of the Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) in New York as a postdoctoral researcher . Thanks to the scholarship she will be able to extend her stay for a longer period.

Specifically, Raúl Catena is investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern metastasis to the lung and, specifically, what happens in the case of the lung subjected to chronic inflammation processes, as is the case of patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), asthma or other pathologies. The results of this research have a very important potential impact, since the population at risk is very high.

Israel Nagore is a senior architect from the University of Navarra. After finishing the degree program, he worked for three years in the architectural programs of study Juan Miguel Ochotorena Arquitecto, in Pamplona, and David Chipperfield Architects DCA and Foster and Partners, for 2 years, both located in London. With the scholarship she wants to fill in a Master's Degree by taking an MA by research, a one-year training program based on the realization of a project of research and the defense of a minor thesis at the end.

The University chosen for the course is Kingston University London, a center of international prestige. Israel Nagore is interested in the development of the "open building" current, which promotes, through the employment of industrialization, a more flexible and adaptable housing construction for users.
