89 alumni of the School Nursing returned to the University last Saturday, October 5, to celebrate Alumni Weekend.
The workshop began with the celebration of mass at the chapel of Sciences Building, the traditional photos and a coffee where the alumni could greet each other and reminisce about old times.
Afterwards, the dean of the School, Mercedes Perez, in a brief session welcomed them and told them about the projects in which the School is immersed, among which she highlighted the international outreach. The dean also spoke about the training continua for the alumni. "We want to be very close to you," she added. "We need your financial aid, we have many projects that we would love to have you collaborate on."
After the dean's brief speech, Susana Oronoz and Ángeles Henríquez spoke on behalf of the graduating class of 1994, which was celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Once the program at School was over, the attendees moved to the University Museum for the main event of the Alumni Weekend. There they enjoyed a conversation about the past and the future of the University with President, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, and Mr. Francisco Ponz, who was the third President of the University and who has just turned 100 years old.
During the ceremony, tribute was paid to alumni who were celebrating the 25th and 50th anniversaries of their graduating class. Susana Oronoz took the stage to receive the recognition on behalf of the class of '94; and Verónica Gil, María Puy Munárriz and María José Zabala received from the dean a diploma for the 50th anniversary of their graduation.
