Marta studied the Master's Degree European University Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU) in 2014-2015. Previously she had graduate in Food Science and Technology at the University of Zaragoza. Despite her theoretical experience in the food industry, she decided to take a step forward and complement her training by specializing even more in the field of nutrition and metabolism.
One of the topics that most attracted Marta's attention was the orientation towards the research that the Master's Degree program is committed to. The program provides the student with the theoretical and practical tools to face, with total security, a doctoral thesis in the world of nutrition. It also allows to develop a professional degree program in research or teaching, in different units of research of hospital centers, in public or private research centers and in units of research and development+I of food industry.
Returning to Marta, she tells us how the Master's Degree opened the door for her to be able to study a doctorate "it gave me the opportunity to continue with my programs of study of doctorate in Food, Physiology and Health within the same group of research, and thanks to the scholarship received from the association of Friends of the University of Navarra".
In addition, thanks to a scholarship of mobility international of the Government of Navarra, she was able to obtain the accredited specialization of doctorate International. This scholarship, gave Marta the opportunity to live six months in Canada, studying at the University of Guelph. Regarding this experience Marta adds that "doing the doctoral thesis was a very enriching experience, both professionally and staff and towhich I had access by taking the Master's Degree E-MENU".
The paths taken by each student, once they finish Master's Degree, can be very diverse. However, as Marta says "the programs of study of Master's Degree and doctorate at the University of Navarra have helped me to acquire skills such as planning and management of research projects, to apply the appropriate methodology to carry them out, to have a critical-analytical thinking and to be able to manage in a multidisciplinary and international context".
