The first edition of the Master's Degree University in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies begins.
27 students make up the first graduating class of the first official program at management of pharmaceutical companies
The UniversityMaster's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies (MUG Pharma-Biotech) of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition started its activity last October 1st. The program is held at campus of the University of Navarra in Madrid. For this reason, Ángel J. Gómez-Montoro, director of the campus, was in charge of welcoming the new students, accompanied by the dean of the School, Adela López de Cerain, and the director of the program, Juan Manuel Irache.
The event was attended, among others, by Luis González Díez, president of the Official Pharmacists' Association of Madrid (high school ), which in March signed an agreement protocol of partnership with School to promote the continuous quality of training for pharmacists and, in particular, the members of the Madrid association.
Adriana García, a student of the new Master's Degree, highlighted the methodology as one of the challenges of the program: "Many of us have not faced the case method in our Degrees , so we will have to get used to working in a team and with the intensity that is needed".
The new students come from nine different universities and have previously completed 12 degrees such as Biology and Health Biology, Biochemistry , Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Chemistry and Biochemistry , Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering or Engineering Chemistry.
For his part, Diego Martínez, emphasized his interest in the contents oriented to management, which he has not taken during his Degree in Health Biology. "In addition, all the lectures and speakers that are going to fill in the academic plan define it, in a word, as exciting."
The program has a faculty of 14 professors from the University and IESE Business School. In addition, 29 guest lecturers will collaborate in the courses. In parallel to the academic program, the conference program includes 48 speakers from different sectors and companies, from the three main industry associations (Farmaindustria, Asebio and FENIN) to leading companies such as CINFA, GSK, Bristol Meyers, Roche, Takeda, etc. In total, more than 90 professionals will be involved in the teaching program.
