From March 14 to 16 the School of Sciences hosts the first conference #Bioentrepreneurs, promoted by the Biotechnology Club and business of the University of Navarra and aimed at introducing students to the world of business, as well as offering them the testimony of other graduates who have started their own business in the biotechnology sector.

As Eduardo Camina, student of doctorate of the University of Navarra explains, "in these first conference we will have three scientific speakers and entrepreneurs who will share their experience and vision of this sector: Roberto Díaz, CEO of Zebrafish Lab; Javier Campión, CEO of Making Genetics; and Dámaso Molero, CEO of 3P Biopharmaceuticals".

Regarding the objectives of the Club, its co-founder highlights "the fact of serving as a point of meeting for students who have concerns in the areas of entrepreneurship, science and biotechnology. So that together we can weave a network of contacts between students from different Degrees but who can share interests and support each other".

"In this sense," adds José María García-Pumarino, current director of the Biotechnology Club and business, "although we are mainly science students, our idea is to have students from any School, as long as they are interested in entrepreneurship and want to learn more about the field of Biotechnology. This has been the case of some members of the Club who came from ADE or the Double Degree ADE + Law".

The life trajectory of three successful bioentrepreneurs

For José María, who is studying 3rd year of Degree at Biochemistry , the conference #Bioentrepreneurs "should be much more than the transmission of the experience of three alumni. It is rather the story of the life journey of three entrepreneurs that starts with the first years in the creation of a business -at position of the CEO of Zebrafish Lab-, the consolidation of an idea -Making Genetics- and the successful end of 3p Biopharmaceuticals, which already has more than 120 employees", he concludes.

Finally, both announced that next September a Club meeting will be held to report on the activities to be developed in the course 17-18.
