THERAVLINFO is an interregional European project through which the aim is to develop new immunotherapy strategies for the treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma -a group of hematological tumors that affect lymphoid tissues such as the spleen or lymph nodes-. In addition, the project seeks to promote biomedical research in the area of Catalonia, Occitania and Navarra through partnership between universities, research centers, hospitals, biotechnology companies and other agents in the POCTEFA region.
On October 3 and 4, a representation of the members of project met in Pamplona for several meetings at work to plan the activities they will carry out together during the next three years (2024-2026).
“With advances in cancer immunotherapy, researchers from Toulouse, Barcelona, and Navarra have joined forces to bring this optimism to patients with aggressive lymphomas as well. The project THERAVLINFO project was launched with the goal of demonstrating that the therapeutic strategies we are developing together could, in the future, change the lives of these patients,” says Sergio Roa, professor and researcher the School of Science at the University of Navarra.
Dr. Sergio Roa highlights the importance of the partnership of the different institutions dedicated to biomedical research participating in this project, which seeks to promote innovation in health in the area of Catalonia-Occitania-Navarre and strengthen cooperation between the different actors.
"The partnership between hospitals, Universities and research centers on both sides of the Pyrenees is bearing fruit with preclinical results that make us look to the future with hope."
The project has a total budget of 1,528,159.52 Euros, with funding from the European Regional Fund development (ERDF) of 993,303.67 Euros, and co-financing from the Operational Program for Cooperation between Spain, France and Andorra (Interreg POCTEFA 2021-2027).
