IES Basoko has been proclaimed champion of the X Tournament of discussion in English for high school diploma held in December -which every year organizes the high school San Cernin in Civican- and which brings together schoolchildren from public and private schools in the region of Navarra. This year the topic was about "Is it worthwhile for teenagers to get involved in climate issues now?".

The Science Museum and the Biodiversity and Environment Institute BIOMA of the University of Navarra have collaborated in an educational workshop prior to the tournament, where students have been able to ask questions about biodiversity and the environment to three expert researchers from the Environmental Society and Culture Unit of the BIOMA Institute: Jordi Puig, Ana Villarroya and Juan José Pons.

"I would like to highlight the high quality of the debates that took place. San Cernin's initiative not only fosters analysis and critical thinking, but also encourages discussion on issues of great relevance for the students' future," says Marie-Anne Reynell, director of development of the Science Museum University of Navarra.

IES Basoko beat IES Navarro Villoslada in the final and the award for best speaker went to Prince Williams from IES Julio Caro Baroja.
