Dr. Carlos Ortiz de Solórzano, director of laboratory of Cancer Imaging and of the Unit of Morphology and Imaging of the research center Applied Medical Imaging (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, has obtained the accreditation as Senior Associate Professor of university in the area of Signal Theory and Communications, granted by the National Agency of assessment of the Quality and accreditation (National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation).

Dr. Ortiz de Solórzano holds a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Between 1997 and 2000 he did a postdoctoral stay at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) of the University of California, Berkeley (California) and, subsequently, he directed the Bioimaging laboratory of the Life Sciences division of the center. researcher of the Ramón y Cajal Program of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, in 2004 he joined the University of Navarra.

His area of research consists of the development of new methods of quantitative image analysis for its application in the study of the origin and development of cancer. In addition, he develops his activity professor at the School of Medicine and at the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra (TECNUN) and is the director of the Master's Degree and the doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering of the University of Navarra.
